Event planners are the best dressed event stylers I know. Why? I am one. I know as the planner and the hostess most times, I have to be dressed to the nines if not the tens! Yet, what I have noticed, is, when the end of the event is near, it is time to kick the shoes off and close the show.

Most times, we only have one hour to get out of the venue when an event is over. At weddings and fund raisers it is hard to tell people to just leave, get out, the party is over. The music might stop, but the people go on for ever. I will kick my shoes off and start clearing tables and taking down decorations, like waitstaff. Just because I can style the best with very little or less of nothing, does not mean, I am too good to help close up shop! There are goign to be times in all events where will be few and far between. Does the bride or corporate organizer need to be bothered with that bit of frustration? NO!

As an event planner, I have to decide how high to hold my head up and when to bring it down a bit. I am not too “good” to help close up shop and get on with the next day. It’s best to get my shoes off in order to get the job done properly and get everyone out.
